WHoopDirt.com can confirm that Illinois will hire Jody Martinez as an assistant  coach.  Martinez has spent this past season as the head coach at Southeastern University (FL) where he led his squad to a 25-7 record. He also spent sixteen seasons as the head coach at Bethel College (IN) – he went 384-180 during his tenure.  Martinez was also named the Crossroads League Coach of the Year four times, and was a six-time NCCAA I National Coach of the Year. The Lady Pilots also won six NCCAA National Championships at Bethel.  He will be with the team when they depart for their foreign tour in early August.
