Caitlyn Moody has been named an assistant women’s basketball coach, Illinois College Director of Athletics Gale Vaughn announced Monday. Moody will assist Illinois College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Lora Westling, who was hired April 26.
Moody is a native of Chatham and graduate of Glenwood High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Missouri Baptist University. Moody was an all-conference and all-state selection as a member of Glenwood’s basketball and soccer teams. She went on to star at UMSL, where she was a four-year varsity starter and all-conference selection. Her father, Terry Moody, is a 1982 graduate of Illinois College.
Moody most recently served as assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach of the Missouri Baptist University women’s basketball team. Her duties during her time there included recruiting, scouting, coordinating campus visits, providing workout instruction, serving as equipment manager and monitoring the school’s sports and recreation center and fitness complex.
