Multiple sources have confirmed that Towson has fired head coach Joe Mathews. During his 12 seasons at Towson, Mathews compiled a 144-206 record. His squad is currently 9-17.

It sounds like he will remain on board and coach the final three games of the season and the search for his replacement will begin when the season is complete.
