UNC-Wilmington head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke has resigned and will be named as the next head coach at Texas Southern. The former WNBA star is just waiting for approval from the Texas Southern Board of Regents before the hiring can be mad official. Cooper-Dyke won 44 games in her two seasons at UNCW, and appeared in consecutive WNIT’s. Before UNCW, she turned around the program at Prairie View and left with an 86-72 record after five seasons. She is a member of the basketball Hall of Fame and led USC to National Championships in 1983 and 1984. As a player for the Houston Comets (1997-2003), she won 4 WNBA Titles, 2 MVP Awards, and led the league in scoring 3 times. More on this when it becomes official.
