A formal offer has been made by College of Charleston Director of Athletics Joe Hull and has been accepted by Candice M. Jackson for the head women’s basketball coaching position at The College, pending background approval and the verification process conducted by human resources.
Jackson, 31, just completed her third season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Duke University under head coach Joanne P. McCallie. She worked mainly with the guards and was a part of the Blue Devils’ back-to-back NCAA Elite Eight appearances in 2012 and 2013.
Jackson, who previously coached at Wake Forest University and the University of Richmond, helped Duke sign three-consecutive highly-ranked recruiting classes including the No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2012. She is a former guard who played at Michigan State from 2000-04 and was Coach McCallie’s first recruit in East Lansing, Mich.
