Cal State Fullerton is set to begin a national search for a new head coach for women’s basketball, after Athletics Director Jim Donovan announced Monday afternoon that current head coach Marcia Foster would not be returning after the expiration of her contract.
"We would like to thank coach Foster for her time and efforts during her ten years here at Cal State Fullerton," Donovan said. "Marcia is a special person and a tremendous leader, especially under the most difficult of circumstances."
Foster went 46-79 (.368) in her four years as the Titans’ head basketball coach and led Fullerton on a deep run into the tournament’s semifinal round this past season. It was the first time the Titans had reached the semifinal stage since the 2008-09 campaign.
Foster joined the program in 2003 as an assistant coach and was promoted to associate head coach in 2006. During her tenure, she coached nine players to 19 all-conference accolades, including two athletes to five first-team awards.
