Last week, Holy Cross announced that head women’s basketball coach Bill Gibbons had been suspended for the remainder of the season.
Gibbons has now issued a statement to address the situation.
“It is important to make clear that the personnel matter relating to me does not in any way involve a claim of sexual misconduct; nor does it involve a student. Furthermore, the matter does not involve any violation of the law or any violation of NCAA or Patriot League rules and regulations. It is strictly an internal, personnel issue. I look forward to returning to my coaching responsibilities at Holy Cross.”
Associate head coach Ann McInerney has been named interim head coach and will assume the role for the remainder of season.
The Crusaders are currently 12-9 (4-6 Patriot League).
