Hernandez named assistant at Providence

Susan Robinson Fruchtl, who was recently appointed head women’s basketball coach at Providence College, announced today (May 1, 2012), that Dario Hernandez will join her staff as an assistant coach. Hernandez will team with Dan Durkin and Kristeena Alexander, who were named assistant coaches for the Friars on April 18.

Hernanadez comes to Providence College after one season as an assistant coach under Robinson Fruchtl at Saint Francis (Pa.) during the 2011-12 campaign.

During his tenure with Saint Francis, Hernandez was responsible for point guard development, and coordinated the program’s coaching clinic and team camp. Additionally, he assisted with the scout team and recruiting.

Hernandez also spent one season as an assistant coach of the women’s basketball team at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y. While with the Panthers, he was very active with the program’s recruiting and scouting.
