Harris added to Northern Illinois Women’s Basketball Staff

Northern Illinois University women’s basketball head coach Lisa Carlsen announced the addition of Jasmine Harris to her coaching staff.

Harris comes to DeKalb after serving as an assistant at William Jewell College last season. Under her guidance, William Jewell had an all-conference player for the first time in three seasons as Ayden Shannon was selected to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Third Team.

“We are excited to welcome Jasmine to the Huskie family,” said Carlsen. “As a young coach who is eager to grow, I love her enthusiasm for the game and very much look forward to her being part of our program.”

Harris began her coaching career in May of 2020 with the All Iowa Attack in the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation. In her four years with the Attack the club posted a 148-111 record in the NIKE Elite League. She prepared and tailored training sessions for college-bound, nationally-ranked players of which 31 played collegiately in 2022.

“I’m thrilled to join this staff and be part of the dynamic program Coach Carlsen has built,” Harris said. “I’m eager for the opportunity to contribute to the team’s development and success.”

After All Iowa Attack Harris was a graduate assistant in the athletic department of Mount Mercy University while also being an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program. Harris played collegiately at University of Sioux Falls, graduating in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management. She was named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference’s Academic Team of Excellence as a senior.
