South Dakota School of Mines Athletics is pleased to announce the addition of Hope Bonlander the new Lady Hardrocker assistant women’s basketball coach.
SD Mines women’s basketball head coach Ryan Larsen is very happy with his new hire.
“Hope was a tremendous competitor and player at Southwest Minnesota State — and played for a trusted friend in Allison Kruger.” Larsen said. “I’m excited about all Hope has to offer our players and the Hardrocker women’s basketball program.”
Bonlander comes to SD Mines from the University of Sioux Falls (S.D.), where she served as a graduate assistant for their Lady Cougars basketball program.
“I am very thankful to have this opportunity to be a part of the amazing Hardrocker Family,” Bonlander said. “I’m excited to support Coach Larsen’s philosophy of dedication and hard work and very anxious for the season to start.”
Prior to her time at USF, Bonlander played at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minn. While at SMSU, Bonlander received her bachelor’s of science in Physical Education with an emphasis on Sports Management.
“Her experience as a graduate assistant at USF working under Coach Traphagen, has given Hope valuable experience,” Larsen said. “I am thrilled that Coach Bonlander is joining the Hardrocker women’s basketball program.”
Bonlander replaces former Hardrocker assistant Ketty Paula, who took an assistant job at Mankato State University in Minnesota.
