Loyola University Chicago Director of Athletics Steve Watson announced Allison Guth has resigned from her position as women’s basketball head coach.
“We are incredibly grateful for all that Guth has contributed to our program,” Watson said. “She made a lasting impact on our student-athletes through her leadership, commitment and care. We wish her nothing but the best and thank her for her dedication to Loyola Chicago.”
Guth, who began her tenure in the 2022-23 season, compiled a 50-75 record over four seasons while guiding Loyola through its transition to the Atlantic 10 Conference. During that time, the Ramblers recorded 23 conference victories and earned two Atlantic 10 Championship wins. In her final season, Guth piloted the Maroon and Gold to its first-ever Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) appearance and multiple postseason wins for the first time in program history.
“I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position as Head Coach of Loyola Chicago,” said Guth. “It is with deep love and respect for the opportunity that I communicate my decision based on my personal need for more time with my family. I could not be more indebted to our phenomenal student-athletes, staff, and administration for the opportunity to lead our young women. It has been an honor, and I will forever be supporting the continued success of Rambler Nation.”
A national search for Loyola Chicago’s next head coach will begin immediately.
