Lipscomb Athletics department announced that Greg Brown would no longer be serving as its head coach for women’s basketball.
Brown’s tenure with Lipscomb lasted seven seasons. The head coach compiled an overall record of 44-164 during his time with the Bisons, including a 22-87 mark in ASUN play.
While he was in charge of the program, Lipscomb produced the school’s first ASUN Player of the Year, first Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and 16 other ASUN postseason honors.
In 2017-18, the Lady Bisons earned their first ASUN Tournament victory in 10 years after beating USC Upstate 95-53 as the No. 4 seed in the first round of the tournament.
“I appreciate the effort, care for our student athletes, conscientiousness and work on behalf of our school that Greg, Hannah, Aaron, Clay and Kelsey have given this year and during the rest of their time with us,” Lipscomb athletic director Philip Hutcheson said.
“Greg is as good a person, husband, father, co-worker and friend as you are likely to find. All of his assistants are all quality and talented people too, and I appreciate everything about them as well.”
Hutcheson says the search for a new coach will begin immediately and that assistant coach Hannah Phillips will continue to work with the team during the interim.
