University of California head women’s basketball coach Lindsay Gottlieb has agreed to terms for a contract extension with the school that will take her through the 2017-18 season.
Gottlieb, a 2013 Naismith National Coach of the Year finalist, has led the Golden Bears to a 57-14 record in her first two seasons in Berkeley. She was named the 2013 Pac-12 Coach of the Year by the media after leading the Bears to a 32-4 overall and 17-1 conference record – both program bests in 39 years of California women’s basketball. She became just the fifth coach to win a Pac-12 title in her first two seasons as a head coach in the conference and led Cal to its first berth in the NCAA Final Four.
