Jill Conroy just concluded a standout playing career for Holy Family University and now she gets her coaching career underway as an assistant women’s basketball coach for Goldey-Beacom College.
Conroy recorded a solid run for the Tigers in which she was picked second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference in 2017, a member of the 2016 CACC Academic Honor Roll and a winner of the 2016 Division II Athletic Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.
The Brooklyn, NY native also made the Dean’s List six times, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2017 with a B.A. in Sport Management & Marketing.
Conroy helped the Tigers to the 2015 CACC title for the first of the squad’s two straight NCAA Tournament appearances. She was named in 2015 to both the CACC and NCAA East Region All-Tournament Team.
She also was a Sports Information Intern at Holy Family, assisting with game stats, game reports and creating online media. Conroy also was a President of the University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, helping the school raise over $1,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Goldey-Beacom (17-12, 13-6 CACC) last season closed second in the CACC South Division and made the league tournament for the seventh time in eight years. The squad also recorded its greatest victory total since posting 20 wins in 2012-13.
Goldey-Beacom opens its season November 10 against Le Moyne.
