Gardner-Webb women’s basketball head coach Rick Reeves is pleased to announce the hiring of Dean Walsh to the Runnin’ Bulldog coaching staff effective immediately.

Walsh will serve as the Associate Head Coach and the recruiting coordinator. He will also be in charge of working with the post players and help with day-to-day operations such as practice logs, workout schedules, team meetings, etc.

Coach Walsh brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and coaching experience with him to Gardner-Webb having coached at the intercollegiate level for 19 years, serving as a head coach for 16 years at Carson-Newman College, Maryville College and Hiwassee College in Tennessee.

Walsh, who has posted an overall record of 299-164 as a head coach, has been a part of 398 wins at the intercollegiate level, which includes 172 wins as the head coach of the Lady Eagles of Carson-Newman placing him fourth on the all-time South Atlantic Conference coaching list for victories and eighth all-time for winning percentage (.585).
