Fordham has released the following statement regarding the departure of head women’s basketball coach Stephanie Gaitley:

Stephanie Gaitley, women’s basketball coach, is leaving Fordham University, effective immediately. The University wishes her well.
 
Ed Kull, director of athletics, will appoint an interim head coach as soon as possible.

Gaitley had been the head coach at Fordham for the past 11 seasons, where she put together a 220-123 (.641) record. She departs as the winningest coach in program history.

Gaitley has also served as the head coach at Monmouth, St. Joe’s, LIU, and Richmond, and owns a 684-393 (.635) over 36 seasons.

No reason has been given for her departure.
