Foster resigns as Midway Women’s Basketball Head Coach

It has been announced that Alan Foster has resigned as Midway University women’s basketball coach and has accepted the Athletic Director position at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.

“We want to wish Coach Foster well on his transition into full-time administration,” stated Rusty Kennedy, Vice President of Admissions and Student Affairs. “He did an outstanding job with the program and will be missed by all of us at Midway.”

In his two seasons at the helm of the women’s basketball program, Foster carded a 38-23 record. Just this past season, Foster led his team to a 22-9 mark overall, while they also earned a share of the River States Conference West Division.

Foster came to Midway in June 2018 following an 18-year stint as the head men’s basketball coach at Bacone College. During his time with the Warriors, Foster amassed 292 wins which had him at No. 20 among the NAIA Division I men’s basketball winningest active coaches.

“It was going to take a very special opportunity for me to leave,” said Foster in a prepared release by Northern Oklahoma. “The last two years at Midway coaching some incredible young ladies have been arguably the most enjoyable of my 30 years of coaching.”

A search to replace Foster has begun.
