The three-time WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks announced today the hiring of Raegan Pebley as General Manager. Pebley, who played in the WNBA from 1997-1998, joins the Sparks after a successful 21-year NCAAW head coaching career.

“We are excited to name Raegan Pebley the General Manager of the LA Sparks,” Managing Partner and Governor Eric Holoman said. “Raegan is an exceptional leader and culture builder. She has deep knowledge of the women’s basketball landscape and brings expertise in player development, talent evaluation, analytics, and organizational leadership. I’m looking forward to partnering with her as the Sparks begin the next phase of our build.”

Pebley was a Division-I head coach from 2003-2023. She amassed a record of 283-268 in her combined coaching tenure at Utah State, Fresno State, and TCU, including leading Fresno State to back-to-back conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, and TCU to three consecutive 22+ win seasons. Pebley played collegiately at Colorado before being drafted into the WNBA 21st overall by the Utah Starzz in 1997. She then played for the Cleveland Rockers in 1998. Pebley also served as the television analyst for the Dallas Wings from 2016-2023, and on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Board of Directors from 2018-2023.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity that Eric Holoman and Karen Bryant have extended me to serve an organization that believes in the transformational impact women’s basketball can have on a community and society,” Pebley said. “The tradition and legacy of the Sparks has played a key role in the current trajectory and growth we are seeing in women’s sports. I am eager to partner with our players, front office, coaching staff and community as we foster a culture where our players are resourced with all the tools they need as they courageously chase the best version of themselves and compete for WNBA championships.”

With Pebley assuming the role of GM, Karen Bryant will transition out of the General Manager role. “I want to thank Eric Holoman for the opportunity to serve as GM of the Sparks this past season,” Bryant said. “I’m proud of our recent accomplishments, including assembling a first-class staff led by head coach Curt Miller, signing key veterans in free agency, and acquiring multiple first-round picks for our future.”

Bryant will continue to collaborate with ownership on strategic initiatives and business operations. “The plan was always to identify a permanent GM and I’m excited to pass the baton to Raegan Pebley,” Bryant added. “Raegan is capable and ready to lead the organization through this next era of Sparks basketball.”

Pebley will lead the Sparks front office alongside Eli Horowitz, who has been promoted to Assistant General Manager/Vice President of Scouting & Analytics; Ilene Hauser, Vice President of Basketball Operations/Player Relations, and two-time WNBA Coach of the Year Curt Miller.

The Sparks hold the No. 2 & 12 overall picks in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
