The Howard Payne University women’s basketball program today announced the addition of Kendra Foreman to the Lady Jacket staff as associate head basketball coach.
Kendra Foreman comes to HPU from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she served as an assistant coach and interim head coach from 2021-2023.
“We are very excited to welcome Kendra and her family to Howard Payne University, said head coach Presley Fisk. “Kendra is extremely passionate and will make everyone around her better on and off the court.”
While on the UMHB staff, she helped the Cru to the 2021-2022 American Southwest Conference regular-season title and third appearance in the NCAA Division III Sectionals. She took over as interim head coach in January of 2023.
“I am so excited and thankful to be here at Howard Payne University. I can’t wait to get with the women’s basketball team and bond, grow, and achieve our goals with this program,” said Kendra Foreman. “I want to thank Hunter Sims and Presley Fisk for giving me this opportunity to be a part of the Howard Payne family. Thank you for welcoming my family to Brownwood.”
Before UMHB, Foreman spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Dallas. UDallas won four of their last six games during an abbreviated schedule in 2020-21 and earned a berth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. While at UDallas, she was also part of the SCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020-21.
Right after graduation from UMHB, Foreman spent one year as a volunteer assistant coach and helped lead the Cru to the first NCAA Division III National Championships berth in program history in 2018-19.
Playing two seasons at McClennan Community College before UMHB, Foreman graduated from UMHB in 2017 with a degree in sport management. During her time as a player at UMHB, she won American Southwest Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior in 2016-17 and was a First Team ASC All-West Division earning a spot on the ASC Championship Tournament All-Tournament Team that season. She would receive Second Team ASC All-West Division honors as a junior.
Kendra and her husband, Willie, have one son, Trae.
