Jackie Moore has been promoted to Florida women’s basketball assistant coach, head coach Kelly Rae Finley announced on Monday. Moore originally joined UF’s staff as assistant to the head coach in 2022, helping the Gators put together a 19-win season and a run to the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals during her first season at Florida.
“We are excited to announce Jackie as our new Assistant Coach!” Finley said. “Her impact was felt in many areas this past season and we are looking forward to having her on the court. Jackie’s knowledge, experience and dedication to elevating the Florida Gators sets her apart.”

Moore, a native of Panama City, Fla., came to UF following 10 seasons at Arizona State, serving as the associate head coach during her final five.
Originally joining the Arizona State staff on June 14, 2012, Moore boasts more than 20 years of coaching experience having also served as an assistant at UMass, Boston College, Miami (Fla.) and Nevada. During her time with ASU, Moore’s instruction and recruiting were instrumental in ASU’s run of a school record seven consecutive 20-win seasons (2014-20). That stretch included a school record six-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances – ASU was preparing for its seventh straight trip to NCAAs before the cancelation of the 2020 NCAA Tournament due to COVID-19 – and a share of the 2016 Pac-12 regular season championship.
Moore spent three seasons (2005-08) as an assistant coach at the University of Nevada, where she served as the recruiting coordinator and helped the Wolf Pack to their first postseason appearance in school history during the 2006-07 campaign.
Moore also had a brief stint at Miami (Fla.), acting as the co-recruiting coordinator while organizing scouts and developing perimeter players in helping the Hurricanes reach the NCAA Tournament in 2004.
In 2002-03, Moore served on a coaching staff that helped guide Boston College to its first NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in school history as they finished the season with a 22-9 record.
Moore also spent three years as an assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts, where she was responsible for the team’s recruitment of prospective student-athletes, scheduling and scouting opponents and supervision of the team’s pre- and post-season conditioning programs.
For six seasons (1993-99), Moore was the head coach at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla. Moore began her coaching career at her alma mater, Armstrong State College in Savannah, Ga., where she was an assistant for two seasons.
A four-year starter at guard – two years at Santa Fe CC and two years at Armstrong State – Moore earned her B.A. in Psychology from Armstrong State in 1991 and added a master’s degree in Health Science from Georgia Southern University in 1993.
