Florida A&M Women’s Basketball Staff Update

Coach Bridgette Gordon is ready for her first season leading the Rattlers and finalized her complete staff with the additions of Zenzele Apesemaka-Vital, Andonte Gennie, and Jordan Harris.

Zenzele Apesemaka-Vital

“Coach Zenzele spent the last season as a graduate assistant under me at Cincinnati. Coach Z is a young hard worker and will be great at building relationships with my young ladies, helping them both on and off the court. She brings energy, enthusiasm, and passion to my coaching staff.”

Apesemaka-Vital joined the Rattlers after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of Cincinnati for the 2022-23 season, following her four-year playing career with the Bearcats. Apesemaka-Vital also worked at PGC (Point Guard College) as a basketball instructor.

Before playing at Cincinnati, Apesemaka-Vital played for notable Nike EYBL programs Team Takeover and Boo Williams.

Andonte Gennie

“I’m excited to have Coach Gennie’s knowledge and experience. He is a worker and will be great at player development and helping players improve their game. Donte was a very successful high school head coach with local ties; he has led Godby to a few winning seasons and will share what he knows to help my guards play with confidence and toughness.”

Gennie joined the Rattlers after spending time at the high school level at Godby High School and Crossroad Academy Charter School. Gennie led both schools to the state tournament.

Gennie was an outstanding player at Georgia Southern as he was named to All-SoCon Media and Coaches Teams in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Gennie also finished his career with 1,288 points, the 19th most in Georgia Southern’s Division I history. Gennie is also third with the most assists in a game with 11 and eighth with the most threes made in a game with seven.

Jordan Harris

“I am thrilled to have Coach Harris on my staff; he brings a wealth of knowledge. Coach Harris has been a part of the WNBA Dream staff, the highest level of women’s basketball, and worked with the NBA Atlanta Hawks. He will help develop my post-play with the fundamentals and details of the game.”

Harris joined the Rattlers after spending some time with the Atlanta Dream as the assistant director of basketball operations. While there, he assisted in planning and directing daily operations, hiring, training, managing staffing and budgets, and coordinating activities for home and away games. Harris also served as an assistant coach during the 2021 season.

Harris has trained winning players at every level, including current and former WNBA/NBA players, overseas professionals, and players at the Division I and II levels.
