FIU Women’s Basketball Hires Healy as Assistant Director of Operations

FIU head women’s basketball coach Jesyka Burks-Wiley announced the latest hire to her staff, as Kaity Healy was announced as an Assistant Director of Operations on Tuesday.

Prior to FIU, Healy was an assistant coach and the director of operations for the Holy Cross women’s basketball team during the 2019-20 season.

“Kaity is coming from one of the best teams in the Patriot League, after being a player on one of the best teams in the Big East,” Burks-Wiley said. “Kaity’s work ethic and initiative are just a few of the many things that made her a no-brainer for our program. Pair that with her incredible personality and that makes her an incredible asset to our program in many forms.”

Healy was a four-year letter winner for the women’s basketball team at Seton Hall University, from 2015 to 2019, and spent three years as a team captain for the Pirates. Off the court, she was a four-year selection to the Dean’s List for Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business and to the Big East All-Academic Team. In 2018, she was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, an honor society for student-athletes holding a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher.

“I am super excited for this opportunity and the direction Coach Burks-Wiley is taking the program,” said Healy. “I am looking forward to the legacy we are going to build at FIU.”

Throughout her collegiate career, Healy received multiple opportunities for leadership development, including being named to the Class of 2019 for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s “So You Want to Be A Coach” program. She was selected to attend the New Jersey Association of Athletics for Women Leadership Symposium in 2018, and she also participated in the University and Big East Time Management Plan Committee in 2017-2018. She was additionally the women’s basketball team representative for Seton Hall’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and represented Seton Hall at the Big East’s annual SAAC Meeting in 2017.

A native of Freehold, New Jersey, Healy earned her two degrees from Seton Hall in May of 2019, including a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and Master’s degree in Professional Accounting.
