Fisher will not return as Women’s Basketball Head Coach at the University of San Diego

Associate Vice President and Executive Director of Athletics Kimya Massey announced tonight that Cindy Fisher will not return as head coach of the University of San Diego women’s basketball program upon conclusion of the 2024-2025 season.

Fisher has led the Toreros since 2005, guiding the program to nine postseason appearances and earning three West Coast Conference Coach of the Year honors (2006-07, 2011-12, 2019-20). During her tenure, Fisher led the Toreros to six 20-win seasons and compiled an overall record of 345-267, including 167-159 in West Coast Conference play.

“Cindy has been an integral part of USD Athletics for the past two decades, and we are incredibly grateful for her leadership, dedication, and impact on our women’s basketball program,” said Massey. “We wish her the best in her next chapter.”

As a program, USD women’s basketball has an all-time record of 634-638, with one WCC Tournament title, and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
