Rosemont College Director of Athletics Joe Pavlow announced Tuesday that Grace Elliott, an assistant coach at Amherst College, has been named the Sports Information Coordinator and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Rosemont College.
A 2016 graduate of Ramapo College, Elliott arrives at Rosemont after serving as an assistant coach at Amherst College in 2018-19, helping the team attain a 25-4 record, ending with a “Sweet 16” appearance. The team also had two All-Americans. Prior to her time at Amherst, Elliott was an assistant at her alma mater for the 2016-17 season.
“Grace stood out among a diverse pool of candidates, demonstrating an understanding of the Rosemont College mission and a desire to lead a successful program while also contributing to the campus community,” said Pavlow. “She has acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge in her previous experiences and has a real handle on what it will take to help grow the program here at Rosemont.”
Elliott will replace Rayne Reber, who resigned in May after serving as the Ravens Head Coach for the past five years.
“I feel incredibly honored to be the next women’s basketball coach at Rosemont College. I want to thank Joe Pavlow and the rest of the search committee for entrusting me with this amazing role,” said Elliott. “I am excited to build on the success that this program has been able to see in the past couple of years. I am eager to continue to enhance the championship culture of the women’s basketball program on the court and in the classroom.”
As a player, Elliott was an All-State multi-sport athlete at Detroit Country Day school. Collegiately Elliott played at Division II Adelphi for two seasons before transferring to Ramapo. At Ramapo, Elliott was a team captain and was named All-NJAC in 2015-16. In 2017-18 Elliott went overseas and played professionally for the Newcastle Knights in the United Kingdom while she completed her Master’s degree.
Elliott will start her time with the Ravens on August 14.
