Ehambe Named Assistant Coach at Oral Roberts University

The Oral Roberts women’s basketball team and Head Coach Misti Cussen announced the hiring of Moses Ehambe as new assistant coach.

Former member of the ORU men’s basketball team from 2004-2008, Ehambe joined the ORU women’s basketball coaching staff after one year as Special Assistant to the Athletic Director in the ORU Athletic Department. Prior to joining ORU Athletics, Ehambe spent 10 years playing professional basketball in the NBA D-League and overseas.

A native of Arlington, Texas, Ehambe chose to play collegiate basketball at Oral Roberts University where he competed in 104 games with a 42.2 percent shooting average. Known for his three-point shooting, he is seen in the ORU records books at No. 8 in career three-point shots made with 183 and No. 5 in career three-point percentage at 40.9 percent. He was named Summit League Tournament MVP in 2008.

“I am so excited to announce that Moses and his beautiful family will be joining our women’s basketball staff,” Head Coach Misti Cussen said. “I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Moses during his playing years at ORU and I believe he has always emulated the student-athlete ideals of our university. He brings tremendous experience to our staff following his long professional career and he is passionate about player development. Moses has always seen his basketball career as a platform for influence and we are so fortunate to have his light shine within our program. I know the entire ORU family will be excited about this addition to an already outstanding staff.”

After joining the Tulsa 66ers in 2008, Ehambe played professionally with stops within the NBA D-League with the Austin Toros and Iowa Energy as well as overseas. In 2011, he won an NBA D-League championship with the Iowa Energy and was an NBA D-League All-Star in 2012 with the Energy.

“I am honored and thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve as part of an experienced and unique staff filled with noteworthy coaches and a roster overflowing with competitive whole leaders for the whole world,” Assistant Coach Moses Ehambe said. “By God’s grace, I have high expectations that my collegiate and professional playing experience, coupled with my desire to see people win on and off the court, will effectively help me step into a unique position and help transform lives.”

Ehambe replaces former assistant coach Jaci Inman. He is married to his wife, Sarah Ehambe, and together they have five children. Coach Cussen solidified her staff which includes Moses Ehambe and Lee Mayberry as assistant coaches and Kyron Stokes as associate head coach.
