Dugan named HC at Bellarmine

In a return to her Derby City home, Chancellor Dugan was named the sixth head coach in the history of the Bellarmine University women’s basketball program by Director of Athletics Scott Wiegandt on Friday morning.

Dugan, a Sacred Heart Academy graduate, spent the last 13 seasons as head coach at Division I Florida Atlantic University, leading the Owls to their respective conference postseason tournament each year. In 2005-06, she led FAU to an Atlantic Sun Championship and earned the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

Dugan has compiled a career record of 320-290 (.525) in 20 seasons, and her players have accumulated a combined eight first team all-conference (GLVC, TAAC/Atlantic Sun, Sun Belt) selections, nine second team, 13 third team/honorable mention, two all-conference freshman team honors, four conference players of the year, one defensive player of the year, and one freshman of the year awards.
