The women’s basketball coaching staff for the 2014-15 season was completed with the hiring of Blake DuDonis. A fast-rising talent in the coaching ranks, the 24-year-old DuDonis joins Cherie Cordoba as new additions to head coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s bench for next season.
"We are excited to have Blake join our UB family," coach Jack said. "He’s going to help us in recruiting and working with post players. His energy and enthusiasm matches mine and I love that. He’s ready to get started and we’re looking forward to what he can bring to our team."
Blake DuDonis joins the UB women’s basketball staff after two seasons as an assistant at his alma mater Gardner-Webb under coach Rick Reeves, where he coached the post players and was the team’s recruiting coordinator.
He got his start as a student assistant with the Bulldogs in his final two years at Gardner-Webb, from 2009-11, enjoying the program’s first-ever Big South Conference title and its first trip to the NCAA tournament in 2010-11 just a year after reaching the WNIT for the first time ever with a 28-5 record.
Between his time as a student assistant and a full-time staffer at Gardner-Webb, DuDonis served for one year as an assistant coach with the Merrimack College’s women’s basketball program in North Andover, MA in 2011-12.
DuDonis graduated from Gardner-Webb in 2011 with a degree in journalism.
