UNCW Women’s Basketball Head Coach Nicole Woods has added Brittany Drew to her staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Drew has served as Head Coach at High Point Christian Academy since 2019 and recently surpassed 100 career coaching victories in her fifth season.
“Brittany reminds me a lot of myself as a young coach. She is hungry, hard-working, a relationship builder, and most importantly a winner,” said Drew. “Her connections throughout not just the state, but the country are an asset to our program. I am honored to give her this chance to achieve her dreams. Seahawk nation will love her!”
Drew, a two-time Piedmont Triad Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, guided the Lady Cougars to three NCISAA 3A State Championship Game appearances and three PTAC Championships. Multiple players have developed into All-Conference and All-State performers along with three PTAC Player of the Year recipients under Drew’s tutelage.
Drew was also recognized as the East coach for the North Carolina Private School All-Star and Triad Blue Chip All-Star Games.
A standout guard during her playing days at Page and Guilford College, Drew was an All-Conference performer at both stops. The Greensboro, N.C., native scored over 870 career points, nearly 199 assists, and over 100 steals for the Quakers from 2011-15.
Drew left Guilford tied for third in school history with 111 appearances, including 70 starts. She stands seventh in Guilford history in three-pointers made (107) and attempts (339).
She has also coached at Grimsley where she served as a junior varsity girls head coach as well as a varsity assistant, as well as coaching stints with the Greensboro Gators and Team Felton AAU teams.
