New Drake women’s basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk announced two members of her coaching staff Thursday, as David Lane will be an assistant coach and Kelsey Bolte will be the coordinator of basketball operations.
Lane has been the head coach at Chipola College (Fla.) for the past nine seasons. The Indians advanced to the NJCAA Final Four under Lane four times and took third place in 2009. Prior to Chipola, Lane was an assistant coach in 2003 for the men’s basketball team at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Lane served as an assistant coach at Iowa City West High from 1996-2002 both with the boy’s and girl’s teams
Bolte was a four-year standout guard at Iowa State and graduated in 2011. She was named honorable mention Associated Press All-American in 2011 and finished her career as the sixth all-time scorer in Cyclones history with 1,639 points. The Ida Grove, Iowa native was named to the 2011 All-Big 12 first team and twice earned All-Big honorable mention honors (2009, 2010). She played this past season in both France and Sweden.
