The Cedar Crest College Athletic Department announces Elizabeth “Libby” Gwynne-Dougherty as the next Assistant Coach of the Falcons Basketball program.
“I am super excited for the opportunity at Cedar Crest College and to see what is in store for the upcoming season,” commented Dougherty.
“I am extremely excited to add Coach Libby to my staff. Her energy and passion for the student athlete experience was clear from our first conversation,” stated Head Coach Kristin Karat.
Dougherty, a graduate from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, was a three-year member of the basketball team with a Centennial Conference Runner-up and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) berth during her freshman season. Dougherty was also a member of the Green Terror Track and Field program and competed in the throwing events. Outside of athletics, Dougherty was a member of Phi Sigma Sigma and had the opportunity to study abroad in Greece. She also served as the Sport Director for the men’s and women’s Lacrosse programs at McDaniel for an internship.
“I can’t wait for her to start working with our student athletes and recruits! It’s definitely a great day for Falcon Basketball,” concluded Coach Karat.
Dougherty earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and minored in Marketing.
