Donelan named assistant at Oberlin

Oberlin College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Kerry Jenkins is pleased to announce the hiring of Casi Donelan as his new assistant coach for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

Donelan comes to Oberlin with three years of college coaching experience. She spent two years at Bethany College where she served as the graduate assistant coach while working towards and receiving her master’s degree in teaching.

Upon graduating in 2012, Donelan moved onto Skidmore College where she served as an assistant women’s basketball coach while also working independently as a personal trainer and health and wellness coach.

"Casi brings a strong background in Division II and III, as both a player and a coach, and she’ll fit right in here at Oberlin," Coach Jenkins said. "I am excited to have her on board and can’t wait to get the season underway."

Donelan was a three-year captain and starter for the Lock Haven University women’s basketball team, while receiving her Bachelors of Science in Sports Administration. While a member of the Lady Eagle’s, Donelan led the team in assists and rebounds from 2008-2010.

The Burke, VA native also has experience coaching AAU basketball and working at numerous basketball camps.

Donelan, who started her duties earlier this month, will assist in all facets of the program and work to mentor the Yeowomen’s backcourt players.
