Idaho State women’s basketball coach Seton Sobolewski has announced the hiring of Timm Dixon as an assistant coach. Dixon comes to Idaho State after spending the 2012-13 season as the head coach at Lamar Community College.
Overall, Dixon brings 11-years of experience coaching in women’s college basketball and his teams have been ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in defensive categories since 2007. Dixon has coached 21 NJCAA/NCAA Academic All-Americans.
"We are excited about Timm joining our staff,” Sobolewski said. “He brings with him a good deal of experience from a lot of different levels. His experience and work ethic will make us better."
While at Lamar Community College, he took over a team three weeks before school started with no returners and turned the team into the winngest team in program history with 18 wins. His team set school records for the longest win streak (8), steals per game and was ranked in the Top 10 in the nation in steals per game (16.1), free throws attempted, free throws made and in the top 100 defensive field goal percentage and defensive 3-point field goal percentage. Dixon’s teams also held opponents to 37.2 shooting from the field.
Dixon spent the 2011-12 season at South Mountain Community College as an assistant coach where the team ranked No. 4 in the nation in steals-per-game. In 2007-09 he was an assistant at Grand Canyon University.
Prior to Grand Canyon, he worked at Arizona State, Glendale Community College and Pima Community College.
