Dixie State University Director of Athletics Jason Boothe announced the hiring of Catherria Turner as the Red Storm’s new head women’s basketball coach.
Turner spent the last two seasons as the head coach at fellow Pacific West Conference member Holy Names University. This past season was the school’s inaugural year in the NCAA and the PacWest. She led her team to ninth place finish and a 12-14 record, after being selected in the preseason to finish last in the conference. HNU led the NCAA and the PacWest in rebounds with 51.2 per game. Off the court, her squad had a GPA above 3.0 and spent over 300 hours per season of community service. In her two seasons as head coach, she compiled a 25-32 record.
