DII Hoops Find a Successful Boost with Ops Technology

While top-seed Lincoln Memorial battled Queens (NC) for the fourth time this year — this time in the NCAA DII Southeast Regional Final — a familiar question filled the TeamSynced office.

“Who should we being rooting for again?”

The same scenario played out when Point Loma and Dixie State met twice in Pacific West conference women’s matchups.

TeamSynced loves to support customers, but with an increasing number of DII basketball programs adopting their collegiate athletics-specific operations platform, they’ve frequently been torn.

On the flip side, coaches aren’t feeling conflicted.

“Teamsynced is essential for the success in our program when it comes to organization,” says Point Loma Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach Matt Armstrong.

“DII and DIII programs are a perfect match for this technology,” TeamSynced General Manager Andrew Miller says. “Coaches at these levels must be extremely resourceful and need a single tool – not five, six or even more – to simplify and dominate off-the-court operational demands. They didn’t become coaches to deal with paper schedules or walk campus doing class checks.”

Many programs currently use a hodge-podge of antiquated systems to get by, which puts a strain on staff and athletes throughout the year. After switching to a sports operations communication platform, these same teams see an immediate boost in efficiency and accountability.

“Our players use their phones for everything in their lives,” Elmhurst Men’s Basketball Head Coach John Baines explains. “They don’t like to rely on things like paper calendars. TeamSynced has brought our program up to speed in the eyes of our athletes.”

Coach Matt Armstrong agrees. “We preach about always being on the same page on-the-court, and TeamSynced allows us to always be on the same page off-the-court.”

With DII Semi-finalist Queens and eight other ranked teams (among many others) leveraging TeamSynced daily, resourceful coaches aren’t just evolving their programs off-the-court, they’re finding success on-the-court as well.
