The University of Minnesota Duluth Women’s basketball program has hired Jada Devine as its next assistant coach.
Devine joins the Bulldogs after a stint as an assistant coach earlier this year at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. At Iowa Central, she took on various roles, including developing and implementing practice plans, analyzing game film, recruitment, logistics, travel arrangements, and creating scouting reports. She also assisted with the team’s in game strategies, play adjustments, and game substitutions. Devine also specializes as a basketball trainer for middle school athletes where she impresses fundamentals and conditioning.
“I am super excited to add Jada to our coaching staff,” said UMD head women’s basketball coach Mandy Pearson. “Jada has high energy, is very kind and organized! She has a bright future in the coaching world and I am glad our student-athletes get a chance to work with her! She is going to be a fantastic addition to our program!”
As a student-athlete, Devine started her career at Kirkwood Community College where she received three All-American Academic Honors, earned two ICCAC Athlete of the Week selections, a Kirkwood Athletics Coach’s Award, and a spot on the Regional All-Tournament First Team. During that time, she helped her team to two Regional Championship victories and a National Championship victory in the 2021-22 season.
A native of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Devine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration.
