Multiple sources have now told me that the new head coach at Delaware State will be Hampton assistant coach Barbara Burgess.  She is a Delaware State alum who has been at Hampton for the past six seasons. Before joining the Hampton Staff, she was an assistant at Norfolk State, and also spent time as a HS coach in Virginia.  in 1989, she was named as Delaware State’s Female Athlete of the Year after leading her squad to the MEAC Championship game.  More on this when it becomes official.
