Dayton Assistant Bolden named Head Coach at D3 Pitt-Greensburg

The Pitt-Greensburg Athletics Department has announced that Julie Bolden has been hired as the new head coach of the Pitt-Greensburg Women’s Basketball program. Bolden joins the staff at Pitt-Greensburg after being an assistant coach, as well as the Director of Recruiting & Creativity for the women’s basketball program at the University of Dayton for the past two seasons.

Bolden, who earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree from Ohio State University, also was the video coordinator for the Hofstra University Women’s Basketball team for the 2021-2022 season.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Jeromy Yetter, and the hiring committee, for believing in my vision for this program. I can’t wait to be a part of the Pitt-Greensburg family and community,” said Bolden.

Bolden will take over the Bobcats, who are coming off a season where they made another appearance in the AMCC Tournament. She will look to continue the tradition of program with a new style. “This is an amazing group of young women with a high ceiling both on and off the court. They’re passionate about the game of basketball and continuing to develop into great players and people.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Julie to Pitt-Greensburg.  We are excited for her to join our campus community and lead our women’s basketball program.  Her passion for the game of basketball and energy level will be a great asset for our student-athletes both on and off the court.  I am really looking forward to Julie joining our athletics department,” said Director of Athletics, Jeromy Yetter.

Look for the team to play up-tempo under Bolden. “We’re going to play fast and aggressive. I love the high-tempo aspect of getting the ball up the court, finding great shots, and bringing energy defensively. It’s going to be a great fit with the players we have.”
