Xavier women’s basketball coach Brian Neal has named Dave Bezold as the program’s director of basketball administration.
“It’s a good day when you can add someone to your staff with the pedigree of Dave Bezold,” said Neal. “His reputation in the basketball community is well respected and his experiences will be a valuable resource for our coaching staff.”
Bezold will oversee opponent scouting and non-conference scheduling. He will also assist with practice planning, game strategy and gathering analytics.
“I’m tremendously humbled to have the opportunity to work at such a prestigious and nationally recognized university, both academically and athletically,” said Bezold. “I’d like to thank Coach Neal and the athletic administration for allowing me to work in a collegiate setting again.”
The former Northern Kentucky men’s basketball coach posted a 194-133 record overall record in 11 seasons (2004-15) as the Norse head coach. He most recently served as a faculty member at Holmes HS in Covington, Ky.
The Taylor Mill, Ky., native holds a bachelor’s degree from Viterbo (Wis.) College (1990) and a master’s degree from Northern Kentucky (1996).
