Some things that I’ve heard as we head into the looooong weekend!

• I have heard that Palm Beach State has hired two assistants – Simone "Jamaican Hurricane” Edwards and Brian Berlingo (sorry, he doesn’t have a cool nickname that I know of). Edwards, who has been a member of the Jamaican National Team, has also played for the Seattle Storm (WNBA). She retired as the team’s all-time leader in rebounds, games, and minutes played. Berlingo had been a staffer at Florida Atlantic under both Rex Walters and Mike Jarvis.

• It sounds like Allegheny assistant Kristen Vasta will become the new head coach at Keystone College. Vasta had been on the Allegheny staff for two seasons, and was an assistant at Utica for three seasons before that. I will post the official release once it becomes official.

• I have heard that UMass Boston AC Dan Nagle has left to become the head girls coach Bellingham High School (MA). Before his stint at UMass Boston, he was an assistant at Norton (MA) HS, and has been heavily involved with some Massachusetts AAU programs.
