Catching-up on a few things that I’ve heard…
• I have heard from a very good source that Louisiana Tech assistant Dave Caputo will become the head coach at Bloomfield College (NJ). He had been on the La. Tech staff for the past two seasons. Before that, he had a ton of success as the head coach at Indian River College (FL). He has also been an assistant at Florida Atlantic, and started his career as a men’s assistant at Bloomfield.
• I have heard that St. John’s graduate assistant Laura Barry will accept a spot on the staff at East Tennessee State. She is a former player at North Carolina and also served a stint as an assistant at Allegheny College (PA). Look for an official announcement shortly.
• From another good source…I have heard that Vicky Picott has departed the Vanderbilt staff after 11 seasons there. Word on the street is that she will be replaced by Virginia assistant Ashley Earley (a former Vanderbilt player). Early has been at UVa for one season, and has also worked at Marquette, Rhode Island, Tennessee Tech, and Alabama.
• I can confirm that Jaci Heny has been named as the top assistant at the University of Great Falls (MT). She had spent the previous six seasons as the head coach at Douglas High HS (WY) where she compiled a 121-44 record.
