A few things that I’ve heard today…
• Multiple sources have said that the University of Pikeville (KY) will hire Joanna Bernabei as the new women’s basketball coach. She has been an assistant at West Virginia, Maryland, and Eastern Kentucky. Bernabei also spent time as the head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan. The official announcement is expected this afternoon.
• I have heard that Marcie Alberts is no longer the coach at Heidelberg (OH). She had been at the helm for the past five seasons. After her graduation from Ohio State in 1997, she played for the WNBA’s Cleveland Rockers. She compiled a 24-102 record over her tenure including a 6-19 record this season.
