Alison McCarthy has been named the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at the Rose-Hulman Insitute of Technology, effective immediately.
McCarthy has been a basketball coach for 19 years at the high school level, beginning in 1999. She got her start in 1999 as the head girls basketball coach at Holmes and Simon Keaton in Kentucky. She then took the head coaching position at Beechwood in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky where she stayed for eight years. She was inducted into the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 2019 along with her father, Jeff.
In 2015, she moved to Cincinnati and received the girls basketball head coaching position at Woodward High School. Then, in 2019, she transitioned to the boys side as an assistant coach at Woodward.
McCarthy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from Northern Kentucky in 1997 where she played on the women’s basketball team.
The women’s basketball team opens their 2023-24 campaign in the Crosstown Classic at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College on Wednesday, November 8 at 7:30 PM.
