Chatham University Women’s Basketball and head coach David Saur have announced the hiring of Rosanna Jenije as an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
Jenije brings both head coaching experience and a high-level playing background to Chatham. Most recently, she served as the head girls basketball coach at North Florida Christian School in Tallahassee, Florida, where she led all aspects of the program while emphasizing player development, leadership, and program culture. In addition to her head coaching responsibilities, Jenije spent several years as an independent basketball skills trainer, working with elementary, middle, and high school athletes to develop position-specific skills, shooting mechanics, ball-handling, and defensive fundamentals.
As a player, Jenije competed at Tallahassee Community College, helping lead one of the nation’s premier junior college programs to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament. She played under nationally respected head coach Franqua “Q” Bedell, one of the most successful junior college coaches in the country, where she developed a reputation as a defensive-minded point guard, floor leader, and competitor. Prior to Tallahassee, she played at Indian River State College, further building the leadership and defensive foundation that has carried into her coaching career.
“We are thrilled to add someone to our staff with the high-level playing experience and head coaching background that Rosanna brings,” said head coach David Saur. “Her experience as both a collegiate point guard on a nationally ranked program and as a high school head coach gives her a unique perspective that will benefit our student-athletes every day. Her ability to develop players, build genuine relationships, and connect with young people are tremendous assets to our program. I also love adding another former head coach to our staff. Our program got better today, and we’re excited for the impact she’ll have both on the court and in recruiting.”
The Cougars will open the 2026-27 season at Washington & Jefferson College in the Hampton Inn by Hilton Women’s Basketball Tipoff on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7, against Case Western Reserve and Transylvania.
