Cummins named head coach at Thomas

The Thomas athletics department have announced the hiring of Emily Cummins as the new head coach for the women’s basketball team for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

Emily is a graduate of Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio where she played four years of collegiate basketball and was a member of the 2004 NCAA DIII National Championship team. She also was a part of the 2002 and 2003 NCAA Tournament teams at Wilmington.

After her collegiate playing career, Cummins most recently served three seasons as the head women’s basketball coach at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. Prior to her position at Hendrix, she was an assistant coach at LaGrange College (GA) for three seasons and a graduate assistant at Otterbein College (OH) for three seasons.

"I am thrilled for the opportunity to join the Thomas College community and to be the new head women’s basketball coach. It is an exciting time and I look forward to getting started with the team and continue building upon the tradition of the college. I could not ask for a better place than Thomas College to continue my coaching career and to positively impact the lives of our student-athletes."
