Conn Named KCU Head Women’s Basketball Coach

KCU has named Lisa Conn, a Morehead, KY native, as their new Women’s Basketball Coach. Conn has been a Professor at KCU for 8 years in the Keeran School of Education and was recently named the Interim Dean.

Conn said, “I am very humbled and honored to be named the new women’s basketball coach at Kentucky Christian University. This program has such an extensive history of success in the NCCAA and I will work hard to continue this rich tradition of excellence. The team has 9 returning players with plenty of experience and lots of new talent. It should be an exciting year.”

With 24 years of coaching experience under her belt including stints at Nicholas County High School, Lakeside Christian Academy, and Rowan County High School, Conn picked up 5 KCAA (Kentucky Christian Athletic Association) State Titles.

She graduated from Rowan County where she was a 4 year varsity player and enjoyed an appearance at the Sweet Sixteen. She went on to graduate with both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Morehead State University. She later earned her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Louisville with emphasis in Mathematics Education. Before coming to KCU, Conn taught in the Rowan County School system for 14 years.

Athletic Director Corey Fipps had this to say, “Lisa Conn brings energy to a program with a rich legacy and winning tradition. We are excited to have someone who understands the core principles of Kentucky Christian University. Lisa is going to be an outstanding coach on the court and will help move our athletic department into a new era off the court.”
