College of Lake County’s Director of Athletics, Bradley Unger named Tanner Morris the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Coach Morris will lead the Lancers women’s basketball program as the Head Coach and will serve as the department’s communication coordinator.
Unger stated, “Morris brings valuable experience at the NJCAA level, where he assisted in 2 NJCAA National Titles, at Howard College (2010-11′) and at Lincoln College (2011-12′). Throughout the interview process Tanner, displayed great knowledge, enthusiasm, and excellent work ethic that will serve the program and department well moving forward. Coach Morris has valuable experience in some very prestigous programs. I am extremely excited to see the program that he builds for our current and future student-athletes.”
In Morris’ past 3 stops, he has specialized in recruiting and with player development. He will look to continue utilizing his strong recruiting ties in the midwest to build and grow the Lancers basketball program.
Prior to coaching, Morris attended Illinois Valley CC and was a member of the men’s golf Program and men’s basketball manager for 2 years. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Lincoln College- Normal (09).
Coach Morris is a native of Normal, IL, where he graduated from University High School in 2002. He was a 4 time varsity letterman in golf and 2 year member of the boys basketball program.
