Northeastern University Director of Athletics and Recreation Jeff Konya announced a change in leadership of the women’s basketball program on Wednesday. Kelly Cole will not be renewed at the conclusion of her contract and finishes her Northeastern coaching career with a record of 87-116 over seven seasons.
The Huskies finished 7-13 and 6-10 in Colonial Athletic Association play this year. Northeastern went 53-71 in CAA games and 2-6 in CAA postseason play during Cole’s tenure. The Huskies were unable to compete at the 2020 CAA tournament due to COVID-19.
Northeastern will begin an immediate national search for a women’s basketball head coach.
