Clemson women’s basketball Head Coach Shawn Poppie has signed a contract extension through the 2030-31 season, announced by Athletic Director Graham Neff. The Board of Trustees compensation committee approved the action on Friday morning.
“The profile and competitive success of the women’s basketball program under Coach Poppie’s direction continues to rise,” said Director of Athletics Graham Neff. “What he and his staff have been able to do on the court, in the community and on the recruiting trail has been remarkable in terms of growth and engagement, and we’re excited to continue to see the program reach new heights with this renewed commitment.”

SHAWN POPPIE CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT CLEMSON
- Coach Poppie has led Clemson to 16 wins and counting during the 2025-26 season, surpassing 14 wins from his first season at the helm (2024-25).
- Has collected 30 wins and counting in less than two full seasons at Clemson.
- Led Clemson to its first win against NC State in 15 years and first victory against Notre Dame in six years during the 2025-26 season.
- In the first year of the Shawn Poppie Era, Clemson women’s basketball experienced a 91% Year-over-year home attendance growth, 9th nationally and 1st in the ACC.
- The Tigers finished the 2024-25 season with the highest home attendance (36,408 fans) in program history since the 2001-02 season.
- Upset No. 19 Georgia Tech and No. 20 Cal in his first season (2024-25) at Clemson, which marked the first time since 2022-23 and the third time since 2004 that Clemson defeated two or more ranked opponents in a season.
- During the Spring 2025 semester, Clemson women’s basketball set a new semester GPA record of 3.56, surpassing its previous record of 3.51 in Shawn Poppie’s first full semester as Head Coach.
