According to a report from WJGH, Chipola College women’s basketball Greg Franklin has been suspended by the college. The team is currently being coached by assistants Reshad Baker and Rachel Johnson, who have been leading the way for the past three games.
According to the report, the suspension stems from Franklin’s “misdemeanor arrest for loitering during his team’s trip last weekend in Daytona.”
Chipola Athletic Director Jeff Johnson WJGH that “administrators at Chipola are aware of the situation and they are handling the repercussions of it internally. Johnson saying the school has no further comment on coach Franklin’s status at this time.”
Franklin is currently in his 11th year at Chipola. Entering this season, he had compiled a 247-60 record. His 2015 team claimed the NJCAA National Championship.
