Carissa Sain Knoche has spent the past four seasons helping guide the Maroons to
an 89-19 record as an assistant coach. She will now have the chance to lead the program from the top. "We are delighted to announce that Carissa Sain Knoche has agreed to serve as Acting Head Coach effective August 1," said Acting Director of Athletics, Rosie Resch. "We have
complete confidence that she will continue the team’s momentum in an acting capacity," said Resch.
Sain Knoche has spent the past 12 years in the University Athletic Association. Her first eight years were spent at Carnegie Mellon University as a player (2000-05) and assistant coach (05-08). During the past four years, she has helped the Maroons win two UAA Conference Championships, as well as appearances in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight in the NCAA tournament.

forward," said Sain Knoche
A three-time All-UAA pick, Sain Knoche finished her career as CMU’s sixth-leading all-time
scorer with 1,189 points. She also set CMU marks for most 3-point field goals in a career (175) and season (54).
